The blade beam is driven by a generously sized gear motor. This ensures a low-jerk feed even at the lowest feed rates. The speed is variable within the range of 0 m/min to 2.5 m/min, and selectable by a potentiometer on the front of the table. The feed is operated with push buttons which must be kept pressed during operation. The main switch simultaneously assumes the function of the emergency stop switch.
